The current planning board will be replaced by a new planning board based on modern technology. The focus will be on performance and user experience.
With regard to performance, we want to make it possible to work quickly with large amounts of data. Currently the current planning board is limited to 40 resources/project per board and a maximum of 8 weeks. We want to expand this considerably. In addition, we will improve the user experience through a better screen design and additional features that increase the efficiency of scheduling.
The new planning board will be delivered in a number of iterations. In the first iteration, the basic functionality will be delivered and made available to all customers as a beta version. In the second iteration the planning board will be delivered up to 80% and in the third iteration up to 100%.
The first iteration will be delivered as a whole. From the 2nd iteration onwards, parts will be made available separately, so that new features will become available within a few weeks. 1st iteration:
- Resource board
- Project board
- Views for selection
- Unstacked view (bookings have the width of hours/minutes)
- Stacked view (bookings have the full width of the cell)
- No limits on selection of resources and projects
- Expansion of number of weeks on screen to 52 weeks
